34 people sick from Canada-wide salmonella outbreak, says Public Health Agency

The Public Health Agency of Canada is warning about an outbreak of salmonella across eight provinces including Ontario. The agency revealed that 34 people fell ill, but the source was not identified. Of those that became sick, eight were hospitalized, and 16 were in Ontario. The majority of cases are women, and the average age is 41. The Public Health Agency is advising people to wash their hands with soap and water, and to cook foods at a safe temperature. Fruits and vegetables must also be cleaned well before eating them.
