Pakistan bounced back to beat the hosting Sri Lanka by 10 wickets at the first Test match. Sri Lanka opened the final day on 63/2 in the second innings, before they were bowled out for 206; top scores from Dimuth Karunaratne 79, and Lahiru Thirimanne 44. Pakistan legspinner Yasir Shah reached the first seven-wicket haul in his first-class career. In response, the visitors, set only 90 for victory, stayed afloat with 92 without loss; Mohammad Hafeez on 46 and Ahmed Shehzad on 43. The player of the match is Pakistan’s wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed; in his first innings, Sarfraz hit 96 off 86 balls with 13 fours. Pakistan lead the 3-match series 1-0.
