Big numbers lead to big records from both Bangladesh and Pakistan. It’s become a real tight match in day 4 of the 1st Test at Khulna. The Pakistan side finished an emphatic 1st innings with 628 all out, their best score against Bangladesh. Mohammad Hafeez took centre stage with 224, Azhar Ali 83, Asad Shafiq 83, wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed 82, and captain Misbah ul Haq 59. Bowling for Bangladesh, Taijul Islam picked up 6/163 from 46.4, and Shuvagata Hom took 2/120 from 34. At close of play on day 4, the Tigers are 273 without loss in their 2nd innings, featuring an unbeaten opening stand between Tamim Iqbal on 138 and Imrul Kayes on 132. That’s the best partnership to come from that same pair for any wicket. The Tigers trail by 23 runs with 10 wickets remaining.
