AFCON 2015: Guinea win draw of lots at Mali’s expense

After a lottery draw with Mali, Guinea will join Ivory Coast in the Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinals. The decision was held after both Guinea and Mali finished in Group D with identical records. This lottery practice is controversial; critics say the decision should have been made on the field. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) says they’re working to avoid this practice in the future.
