Archdiocese of Toronto unveils plan to help in Syrian refugee crisisSeptember 8, 2015
The Archdiocese of Toronto has launched a campaign to help bring refugees from Syria into the city. Cardinal Thomas Collins, Archbishop of Toronto, announced “Project Hope”, which is an appeal for Canadians to lend a helping hand in this global crisis. Speaking to the media this morning, the Archbishop is calling on political leaders to respond, especially with the federal election next month. In response to the Syrian refugee crisis, the Archdiocese has set a goal to raise 3 million dollars for aid within 100 days.
