Well it looks like Black beauty is definitely spreading worldwide!
For the first time in Japan a mixed raced contestant has been named Miss Universe Japan. 20-year-old Ariana Miyamoto has won the coveted title; she is the daughter of a Japanese mother and African American father. The former Miss Nagasaki will represent Japan in the 2015 Miss Universe pageant.
She’s not just a pretty face though, according to Japan Today; she holds a fifth degree mastery of Japanese calligraphy – not an easy feat at all. Can’t wait to see how she’ll fair at this years pageant!
