A popular pizza chain served the Toronto public for last time yesterday.

The Big Slice, which staff said has been open for some 45 years, made its final contribution to the neighbourhood on Monday morning as staff gave away free slices to homeless people in the area before shuttering the store.

The entire block where the pizza place is located is slated for demolition, and two condos will be built where the restaurant stands near the intersection of Yonge and Gerrard Street.
