Bolt, Gatlin enter 200m semis in BeijingAugust 25, 2015
Fresh off his stunning 100m victory, Usain Bolt booked his spot in the 200m semifinals at the IAAF World Championships in Beijing, winning Heat 3 with 20.25. Justin Gatlin also qualified; he won Heat 4 in 20.19 seconds, and in that same heat, Jamaica’s Nickel Ashmeade came in third with 20.40. Kenya’s David Rudisha claimed his second 800m title in 1 minute 45.84 seconds, and Genzebe Dibaba of Ethiopia found her first world title in the 1500m, clocking in at 4 minutes 8.09 seconds. In the women’s 400m semis, Bahamian Shaunae Miller led Heat 1 with 50.12; coming in second, Christine Day of Jamaica with 50.82. Also in from Jamaica: Stephenie Ann McPherson finished Heat 2 in second with 50.32, and Shericka Jackson was second in Heat 3 with 50.03.
