Iron Man 3 has second highest box office debut in historyIt doesn’t take an expert to know that the top movie this week was the superhero flick, Iron Man 3, in fact the $175.3 million that it made this weekend was the second best opening weekend for a film ever. The film stands just behind The Avengers, another Marvel flick starring Robert Downey Jr., which opened a year ago and took $207.4 million. In second place this weekend was the Michael Bay-directed action-comedy Pain and Gain starring Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, which brought in $7.6 million. Jackie Robinson shows his resiliency as 42 came into third this weekend, making $6.2 million. The Tom Cruise post-apocalyptic action film Oblivion took the fourth spot with $5.8 million. Rounding out the top 5 was the animated film The Croods which brought in $4.2 million.
