‘The Butler’ cleans up at the Box Office
The world of cinema was cleaned up this weekend by Lee Daniels’ The Butler. The movie which stars Forest Whitaker and Oprah Winfrey topped the charts with $25 million in its first weekend of release.
The comedy, We’re the Millers took second place bringing in $7.8 million. To daye its total has been $69.5 million.
Last week’s number 1 movie, Elysium took a huge fall from grace as it only racked in $13.6 million. The Matt Damon sci-fi flick has brought in $55.9 million to date.
The comic-book turned movie Kick A** 2 debuted to a $13.5 million figure.
Finally, rounding out the top 5 is Disney’s Planes which brought in $13.1 million this week.
