G.I. Joe captures No. 1 Spot

Looks like the 9-month wait for G.I. Joe: Retaliation paid off as the movie based on the classic toy line seized the number one spot at the box office this Easter weekend.
The film starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Bruce Willis and Channing Tatum earned $41.2 million in North America alone, it also made $80.3 million internationally making it this year’s highest international opening of the year.
The number 2 movie this week was last week’s top movie, The Croods. The animated film brought in $26.5 million this week.
Taking the third spot this weekend was the new Tyler Perry movie, Tyler Perry’s Temptation. The film exceeded expectations bringing in $22.3 million.
Olympus Has Fallen came in fourth this week grossing $14 million.
Rounding out the top five is the Disney movie, Oz the Great and Powerful with $11.6 million.

7. “The Call,” $4.8 million.
8. “Admission,” $3.2 million.
9. “Spring Breakers,” $2.7 million.
10. “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone,” $1.3 million.
