IDENTITY THEFT RETURNS TO TOP SPOT
At the box office during Oscar Weekend, Identity Theft takes the top spot.
The comedy starring Jason Batman and Melissa McCarthy earned $14.1 million during the weekend. Identity Theft returned to number one after losing last week to Bruce Willis’, A Good Day to Die Hard.
Coming in second place was Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s new action film, Snitch, which opened with $13 million.
Escape from Planet Earth earned $11 million this weekend to come in third. The animated film, in its second week of release has brought in $35.1 million.
Safe Haven narrowly came in fourth with $10.6 million bringing its two-week total to $21.4 million.
A Good Day to Die Hard, which led the box office last week, fell to number five in its second week bringing in $10 million.
