Canada drop first airstrikes on Iraq in anti-ISIS mission

Nov 3, 2014 | National, NEWS | 0 comments

Canada has launched airstrikes in Iraq for the first time in their mission to combat ISIS militants. A statement by National Defence Minister Rob Nicholson says that two CF-18 jets dropped bombs over the area of the city of Fallujah. This is the same city where US soldiers faced the heaviest fighting in the decade-long American campaign, and now it is considered ISIS territory. Further information on the anti-ISIS campaign is expected tomorrow.
