CARICOM panel calls for dissolution of WICB

Nov 5, 2015 | Cricket, Sports | 0 comments

A CARICOM review panel is recommending that the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) be dissolved and an interim committee put in its place. The call was made by Professor Eudine Barriteau, the chair of the review panel, who says the current setup is obsolete. Grenada’s Prime Minister Keith Mitchell is the chair of the CARICOM Cricket Governance Sub-committee. He says there should be better development at the Test level. The WICB has been taking plenty of heat recently for the game’s decline in the Caribbean. The Windies fell 2-0 at their Test series in Sri Lanka. They’re also down 2-0 to the hosts in their ODI series, just ahead of the 3rd and final match.
