Cayman opposition leader gearing up for 2017 vote

The Cayman Islands’ Opposition Leader McKeeva Bush says he will be flanked with young talent when his United Democratic Party (UDP) goes up against the ruling People’s Progressive Movement (PPM) in the polls in 2017. Bush says the UDP is currently reorganizing and not rushing to make any major personnel announcements for now. As the political season heats up, he says the upcoming election will be a dogfight, considering the PPM will be without the benefit of galvanizing against his administration this time around. Bush is still critical over single-member constituencies, which he said will be too costly and will cause needless confusion in the election process.
