Century by Sarkar ensures 3-0 series win for Bangladesh

Soumya Sarkar’s unbeaten century added the final touch to Bangladesh’s 3-0 ODI series whitewash over Pakistan; the hosts won the 3rd and final match by 8 wickets in Mirpur. Pakistan were 250 all out; it was the first ODI century for captain Azhar Ali, who made 101. Other scores: Haris Sohail 52, and Mohammad Hafeez 45. Four Bangladeshi bowlers took 2 wickets each; captain Mashrafe Mortaza, Rubel Hossain, Arafat Sunny and Shakib Al Hasan. Bangladesh came on the counterattack with 251/2 from 39.3 overs, featuring a first-wicket stand of 145 between Tamim Iqbal 64 and Soumya Sarkar 127 not out. Incidentally, Sarkar was named the man of the match, and Iqbal the man of the series. Wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim was unbeaten on 49. Pakistan bowler Junaid Khan took 2/67 from 7.3 overs.
