One CFL player has been slapped with a fine for discriminatory remarks on Twitter. Calgary Stampeders receiver Maurice Price was commenting on Michael Sam, who joined the St. Louis Rams this weekend as the NFL’s first openly gay draft pick. Price said he couldn’t accept the draft due to his faith, which prompted the CFL to fine him for an undisclosed amount. Later on, Price said it was nothing personal against Sam, and wished him the best in his career.
