The suspect who opened fire in a historical Charleston church that claimed the lives of 9 church members (including a pastor) has been charged with 9 counts of murder including one weapon possession charge.
As reported, 21 year-old Dylan Roof of South Carolina is believed to have sat in on a Wednesday bible-study at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church for one hour or so before he pulling out his .45-caliber pistol (that he reloaded multiple times) to methodically kill nine church members and leaving one survivor.

In his statement on Thursday President Barack Obama said that “this is not the first time that black churches have been attacked. And we know that hatred across races and faiths pose a particular threat to our democracy and our ideals.”
Many S.C. residents, city and state officials including South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley said the alleged gunman should face the death penalty.
