CPL: Red Steel move on to second semifinal with WarriorsJuly 24, 2015
The brothers Bravo put the T&T Red Steel in the second semifinal after a 27-run victory over the Jamaica Tallawahs at Queens Park Oval. Player of the match Darren Bravo hit 86 not out off 63 balls with 4 fours and 6 sixes, pushing the Red Steel to 152/6 from 20 overs. Bowling for the Tallawahs, Jerome Taylor picked up 2/28 from 4 overs. Tallawahs skipper Chris Gayle posted 30 and wicketkeeper Chadwick Walton added 31, but it was mostly single digit score in the Jamaican side’s total of 125 all out. Red Steel bowlers had some tricks up their sleeve, especially the captain; Darren’s brother Dwayne Bravo took 5/23 from 4 overs, and Kevon Cooper 2/21 from 4 overs. The Red Steel prepare for the second semifinal with the Guyana Amazon Warriors at Queens Park Oval. The winner faces the Barbados Tridents in Sunday’s final, also at the Port of Spain stadium.
