A legend among Football legends of his time, Decon Jones has died yesterday of natural causes, in his Anaheim Hills, California home at the age of 74.
A member of the L.A. Rams Fearsome Foursome from 1961 to 1971, Jones may have been the greatest defensive end in the history of the game.
He’s responsible for the term “sack” because of the way he fiercely tackled quarterbacks.
Jones was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1980.
Jones also worked as a television and film actor, guest starring in numerous roles including “The Brady Bunch” and “Bewitched tv series and a speaking role in the movie “Heaven Can Wait.”
