The scientists at CellzDirect have created human ‘organs on a chip’. The chip provides live human cells a living environment conducive to the one experience in the human body but on a chip similar to one used in a mobile device.
Geraldine Hamilton made it clear that this advancement in medical engineering is not to try and create a whole human. The ‘organs on a chip’ is a way to provide pharmaceutical companies with a product that is essential when testing new medication, which would be safer and more accurate than the current method of animal testing.
