Double hundred from Hafeez puts Pakistan in controlApril 30, 2015
Thanks to a double century from Mohammad Hafeez, Pakistan take a dominant lead against Bangladesh in day 3 of their 1st Test. The visitors were on track with a 1st innings score of 537/5 at close of play. Hafeez’s personal best of 224 was also the highest by a Pakistani batsman against a Bangladesh side. Other high scores from Azhar Ali 83, and captain Misbah ul Haq 59. Two batsmen at the wicket: Asad Shafiq on 51, and wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed also on 51. Bowling for the Tigers, Taijul Islam took 3/116 from 36, and Shuvagata Hom took 2/112 from 32. Pakistan lead by 205 runs with 5 wickets remaining.
