Dozens killed in truck bomb attack in Libya

Jan 7, 2016 | Africa, NEWS | 0 comments

At least 47 people have been killed by a truck bomb targeting a police training centre in the western Libyan city of Zliten. Reports say the attack struck the al-Jahfal training camp, which had been a military base during the rule of ousted leader Muammar Gaddafi. Libya has been hit by instability since Gaddafi’s overthrow in 2011, and there is concern that the Islamic State is gaining a foothold there. The country has been run by two governments, only one of which is recognized by the international community.
