Maurice White, the co-founder of Earth, Wind & Fire, passed away in his sleep yesterday morning, he was 74.
The singer-songwriter was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease back in 1992, was reportedly doing worse in recent months. White with his band acquired a series of hits including September, Boogie Wonderland, Shining Star and After the Love has Gone.
Earth, Wind & Fire were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000, and Maurice was individually inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2010.
