England captain Morgan hit with concussion in series loss to AustraliaSeptember 15, 2015
Australia seized the 5-match series 3-2 after beating England by 8 wickets at the fifth and final ODI at Old Trafford. England were one man short; their captain Eoin Morgan had retired hurt after he was struck on the head by a Mitchell Starc delivery. Morgan was helped off the field after producing only one run, and the Aussies soon had bad memories of one of their own, Phillip Hughes (Hughes died last year after being struck on the head by a ball during play). Ben Stokes top-scored with 42, but his fellow batsmen failed to make an impact, as the Three Lions were bowled out for 138. Bowling for Australia, Mitchell Marsh (the man of the match and man of the series) picked up 4/27 from 6 overs; John Hastings took 3/21 from 10. The Aussies cruised to an easy victory with a total of 140/2 from 24.2 overs, with Aaron Finch unbeaten on 70 and George Bailey on 41.
