England beat New Zealand by 56 runs in the one-off T20 match at Old Trafford. England made 191/7 from 20 overs: player of the match Joe Root hit 68 off 46 deliveries, with 8 fours and a six. New Zealand bowlers Mitchell Santner took 2/28 from 4, and Mitchell McClenaghan 2/37 from 4. New Zealand countered with 135 all out: Kane Williamson 57. Bowling for the hosts: T20 debutants David Willey took 3/22 from 2.2 overs, and Mark Wood 3/26 from 3. Ben Stokes picked up 2/24 from 3 overs.
