Former Newcastle United goalkeeper Pavel Srnicek has died, just days after a cardiac arrest in his homeland, the Czech Republic. The 47-year-old collapsed on December 20 while jogging. He was then sent to hospital in an induced coma and eventually passed away. Srnicek was a big favourite for Newcastle fans, especially during his first time at the club in the 90’s, when they saw promotion to the English Premier League. He’s also made 49 appearances for the Czech national team between 1994 and 2001.
