The father of Jun Lin spoke to the media for the first time since Luka Magnotta was convicted in the Concordia student’s murder in 2012. Diran Lin, who flew in from China to attend the trial in Montreal, says he lost everything when he lost his son. Speaking through a translator, Diran wished to ask Magnotta why his 33-year-old son was killed. Last week Tuesday, 32-year-old Magnotta was found guilty of first-degree murder, giving him an automatic life sentence with no chance of parole for 25 years. He was also guilty of four other charges. Diran thanked the Canadian justice system, saying he was satisfied with the verdict.
