FIFA is punishing Jamaica’s national head coach Winfried Schaefer, as well as two players. Schaefer was suspended for 2 matches for “unsporting behaviour” against a match official in a CONCACAF World Cup Qualifier against the hosts Nicaragua on September 8. Two of the Reggae Boyz – Lance Laing and Upston Edwards – face a 4-game suspension each for offensive language, also against a match official. What’s more, all three men were fined more than 5,000 US dollars. However, according to the Jamaica Observer, the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) says this case is far from over, as they have 30 days to appeal the charge.
