Hip hop rapper Iggy Azalea recently felt the sting of fans after cancelling yet another scheduled performance.
The newly engaged star who had previously cancelled her forthcoming tour released a statement yesterday explaining that she would no longer participate in Pittsburgh’s Pride parade this weekend.
“I am truly disappointed that I have to share this news,” Azalea began, “but I will no longer be performing at Pittsburgh Pride on June 13th. This has been a difficult decision as I truly support the event and LGBTIQA communities…”
She went on to apologize for homophobic remarks she had previously tweeted:
“I am firm believer in equality. Unfortunately in the past as a young person, I used words I should not have. The last thing I want is for something so careless said to be interpreted as reflective of my character.”
This didn’t stop a herd of Azalea fans taking to Twitter to share their utter disappointment, with many urging the rapper to quit the rap scene or look for another career.
