Jamaican allrounder Andre Russell showed he was a force to be reckoned with as the Kolkata Knight Riders soared to a 7-wicket win at home to the Chennai Super Kings. CSK made 165/9 from their 20 overs, with a top score of 32 from New Zealander Brendon McCullum. Bowling for Kolkata, Aussie Brad Hogg took 4/29 from 4, and Andre Russell picked up 2/20 from 4. The defending champs sealed the victory through an unbroken 4th wicket partnership of 112 between man of the match Russell on 55 and wicketkeeper Robin Uthappa on 80. That led to KKR’s total of 169/3 from 19.5 overs.
