100% Of the Proceeds Go To His Charity
Jay Z will continue his partnership with luxury department store chain Barneys after the high-end retail store was in the media for two racial profiling incidents.
In the last several weeks there has been separate investigations over the wrongful arrests of Trayon Christian and Kayla Phillips, who made expensive purchases at the department store.
Upon the approval of their transactions, undercover police swarmed Christian and Philips and accused them of theft.
In September Jay Z announced that he would be releasing a limited edition holiday collection with Barneys.
Petitions were created for him to discontinue his collaboration with the store. However, the 43-year-old media mogul will resume his business venture under the circumstances that 100% of all sales from his holiday line go towards The Shawn Carter Foundation.
Also he will have a leadership role on the Barney’s council in order to address issues of racial profiling.
