Joel Garner to challenge Cameron for WICB presidency

Feb 5, 2015 | Cricket, Sports | 0 comments

It appears West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) president Dave Cameron has a contender. Former West Indies fast bowler Joel Garner is challenging the incumbent Cameron for the president’s role. Garner, the president of the Barbados Cricket Association, will have T&T Cricket Board director Baldath Mahabir as his running mate. The Guyana Cricket Board agreed to support Cameron; although Cameron is Jamaican, he didn’t get support from his own country’s Cricket Association, who will instead support Garner after a 10-6 vote by JCA board members. The elections take place at the WICB’s next general meeting March 7.
