To Take Or Not To Take Multivitamins?

 
Recently the Annal of Internal Medicine released a study that found persons routinely taking multivitamins and mineral were not better protected from heart diseases, cognitive decline and cancer.
 
With funding provided by the National Institutes of Health a medical team was able to run 134 academic and clinical sites through the U.S. and Canada. According to Annal of Internal Medicine, 400, 000 Participants of the study were randomly assigned to an oral, 28-component, high-dose multivitamin and multi-mineral mixture or placebo.
 
Their research concluded that a majority of vitamin supplements and minerals have no clear benefits, should not be used as a preventative measure against chronic disease and that well-nourished adults taking the supplement may be doing more harm than good.
