By now everyone has probably heard about the feud between Lil Wayne and Birdman, but now things seem to be getting very serious.
Lil Wayne is reportedly planning to sue Birdman’s record label Cash Money Records in order to be released from his contract. Weezy claims that the YMCM CEO owes him an $8 MILLION dollar advance for his upcoming album ‘Tha Carter V’. On top of all of that, Weezy is also threatening to leave with all of his Young Money Entertainment artists.
According to TMZ.com, Lil Wayne plans to keep Young Money artists under his label, seeing that they’re under contract. That includes Drake, Nicki Minaj, Christina Milian, Lil Twist and Mack Maine.
Lil Wayne may face some setback with his plans to take his Young Money artist with him due to the fact that the artists may have distribution deals with Birdman’s record label, and the CEO has played a major role in most if not all of the Young Money artist’s careers.
Fellow YMCM label mate Nicki Minaj expressed her thoughts on the matter in a recent interview. “I’ve gotten so much closer to Wayne lately. Wayne is his own person. He’s a businessman and whatever decision Wayne makes, I would never in my life speak against it publicly… even if I didn’t agree, Baby has always been one of my best friends in the game. And I know that they love each other; that’s family.”
