In Spain, tax fraud charges have been dropped against Argentinian star Lionel Messi, but prosecutors are going after his father. Both men were accused of defrauding Spanish tax authorities of over 5 million dollars, through offshore companies between 2007 and 2009. The Barcelona forward is now off the hook, but his father Jorge Messi, who managed his son’s finances, could face 18 months in jail and a fine of almost 3 million dollars if convicted.
