CNN picks up Mark & Jem’s tribute to Kris Kross
Mark Strong and Jemeni both did their morning shows dressed backwards, showing respect to iconic hip-hop group Kris Kross.
Mark put the picture up on his Instagram, and together they garnered attention from CNN.
Here is what CNN had to say about the tribute:
CNN PRODUCER NOTE: Mark Strong and Jemeni are on-air personalities for the G987FM morning show in Toronto, ‘Mark and Jem in the Morning’. On the suggestion of a regular listener, they wore their clothing backwards Thursday in tribute to Chris Kelly — one half of the ’90s rap duo Kris Kross, who died Wednesday in Atlanta — and encouraged their audience to do the same. Strong wore a backward baseball cap, backward Atlanta Falcons jersey, backwards jeans and a backwards jean jacket. He even put his belt on backwards. ‘Between trying to drive here and using the washroom, I don’t know how those guys did it,” Strong said. “It’s been a challenging morning being all ‘Krossed up’!”
