Morgan leads England chase at Leeds ODI contestSeptember 11, 2015
Captain Eoin Morgan led England’s 300 run chase to level the series 2-2 after a 3-wicket triumph over Australia in the fourth ODI over at Headingley in Leeds. The Australians posted 299/7 from their 50 overs. Scores from Glenn Maxwell 85, George Bailey 75, and wicketkeeper Matthew Wade 50 not out. As for England’s bowling: David Willey (standing in for injured Chris Woakes) took 3/51 from 8, Liam Plunkett 2/47 from 8, and Moeen Ali 2/40 from 10. Captain/player of the match Eoin Morgan hit 92, including 8 fours and 2 sixes, in England’s reply of 304/7 from 48.2 overs. James Taylor and Ben Stokes made 41 each. Bowling for the Aussies: Pat Cummins picked up 4/49 from 10, Mitchell Marsh 2/52 from 9. Either side could break the 2-2 series deadlock in the fifth and final ODI happening at Old Trafford in Manchester.
