The mother of a man facing charges in a fatal crash in Vaughan this weekend has issued a statement to the victims’ families. Marco Muzzo’s mother Dawn released the statement through a lawyer, expressing her condolences to the Neville, Lake and Frias families. The crash occurred Sunday at Kirby Road and Kipling Avenue; four people in a van were killed after being struck by a black SUV. 65-year-old Gary Neville was among the dead, along with his young grandchildren: Daniel, Harry and Milly Neville-Lake. Their grandmother and great-grandmother were injured and sent to hospital, but are expected to survive. A mass for the victims was held at St. Joachim Separate School in Brampton, which Daniel and Harry attended. The children’s mother Jennifer Neville-Lake thanked the public for their support. Police said 29-year-old Marco Muzzo of King Township faces a number of charges, including four counts of impaired driving causing death. He appeared in a Newmarket court yesterday.
