Toronto based poet, singer and author Amani will drop a brand new Spoken Word CD entitled “Poetree Huggin” this weekend, which will include 17 poems and poetic songs that speak to the world and the human experience.
Not to mention the world is centred on a 140 characters or less, Amani reminds us we need to protect our precious words, much like a tree hugger wants to protect the environment by hugging a tree. Amani, who was the 2013 winner of the Harry Jerome Award for Excellence in Entertainment and last year she was the producer/director and one of the solo performers in the new musical production “The Journey” – The Living History of Regent Park.
She’ll be joined on stage by composer, singer and one of the former stars of the Lion King Jeremiah Sparks and smooth blues guitarist Fabio Parovel and up and coming vocal percussionist Ryan “Beatspawn Buckspan.
The launch happens Saturday October 18th  at Studio 60 Theatre in Etobicoke. For more information visit
