Mustafa Kamal quits as ICC President after tension with governing body

International Cricket Council (ICC) President¬†Mustafa Kamal has stepped down after an apparent falling out with the organization, and he just took the post last year. He says he decided to quit after not being asked to hand the World Cup trophy to this year’s winners Australia; ICC chair Narayanaswami Srinivasan did this instead. Kamal, who’s from Bangladesh, was also fuming at the tournament’s umpires in his country’s quarterfinal loss to India. Still, the ICC says Kamal’s resignation letter had no complaints against any individuals. The board will discuss a replacement at a meeting in Dubai later this month.
