The NBA continues to investigate racist comments reportedly made by LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling. The remarks were found in a recorded conversation with his girlfriend, in which he allegedly advised her not to bring Black people to his games. The news received plenty of backlash from players, management and fans alike. Many big name sponsors such as Kia, State Farm, Red Bull and Virgin America had withdrawn their sponsorship of the Clippers. Also, the NAACP says they will return a donation given by Sterling to the group’s Los Angeles chapter following the news.
