New host and now a new look! CBC Radio has revamped its popular arts & culture entertainment show Q, at least slightly.
Instead of the regular upper case “Q”, the new name for the show is a lowercased “q”. Looks like CBC has moved past the Jian Ghomeshi scandal while bringing Rapper Shad on board to host and take the program into its new era. Shad’s first day will be this coming Monday morning (April 27th) and will feature live performances from Juno award winning Inuit throat singer Tanya Tagaq, as well as Canadian pianist Chilly Gonzales.
The “q” re-launch takes from other well-known brands to adopt the lower-case lettering, such as the world famous Adidas brand. Some experts say the re-branding of q isn’t enough to shake Ghomeshi’s notoriety, but Shad says “the show goes on and the show’s still good.”
