New Zealand tour match abandoned due to field conditions in Sydney

There was some trouble on the pitch in Sydney, where Australia and New Zealand were forced to abandon their tour match in a draw. That’s because of the surface at the Blacktown ISP Oval, which was dry and deteriorating, as it’s hard for grass to grow in Australia this time of year. The Aussies and Kiwis play the first of a three-Test series starting Thursday in Brisbane.
