No More Explicit Lyrics For Me! – According To Prince

THE JUICE WITH JEM

Remember back in the day when PRINCE used some pretty explicit lyrics in his music? Well, that’s not the case ANY more!

In June’s issue Essence Magazine, Prince explains why he longer uses dirty words/phrases in his songs – “Did you ever hear Muhammad Ali curse?  Would you curse in front of your kids?  To your mother?  Marsha, Lianne, Janelle . . . they’re all my sisters…”

The last comment is referring to Marsha Ambrosius, Lianne La Havas, and Janelle Monae who are singers and apparently, Prince is a fan of all three!

Prince went on to say, “We shouldn’t curse at them.  We need to treat all of them, and all people, like royalty.”

Over the last decade or so, Prince has avoided playing songs with dirty connotations, so its most likely that fans may never hear him perform stuff like “Erotic City”, or “Darling Nikki.” – A fan can dream though… lol!
