The biggest night in Canadian music had nothing short of surprises wins and appearances!

Bryan Adams and comedian Russell Peters kicked off the Juno Awards on Sunday night with a little help from Prime Justin Trudeau and wife Sophie.

Among the winners of the night were Alessia Cara snagging the ‘Pop Album of the Year’, Exco Levi won Reggae Recording of the Year for ‘Siren,’ Alberta native Ruth B won for ‘Best Breakthrough Artist and Ottawa’s electronic music group A Tribe Called Red took home the ‘Producer of the Year’ award.

To end the night, an all-star group of Canada’s best performed a sombre rendition of ‘Summer of ’69’ in tribute to the late Leonard Cohen.
