Online threat puts Laurier's Waterloo campus on lockdown

Oct 16, 2015 | National, NEWS | 0 comments

The Waterloo campus of Wilfrid Laurier University was placed on lockdown early this morning after campus police received a tip about a threat made online. The threat was apparently a warning to avoid going to the school’s science building. The university contacted Waterloo Regional Police before closing all of its buildings. Laurier spokesperson Kevin Crowley says although most students have already been away for Reading Week, there are safety measures in place. The lockdown was lifted just before noon, but the investigation continues. Waterloo Police have been working with the RCMP and the FBI to determine who made the threat.
