Pan Am Games: Canada honoured with more goldJuly 15, 2015
It’s rowing gold for Canada in the women’s quadruple sculls, the men’s lightweight four, and the men’s eight events at the 2015 Pan Am Games in Toronto. A silver medal was handed to Kingston, Ontario’s Rob Gibson in the men’s single sculls. And gymnast Ellie Black from Halifax wins the gold in the women’s beam and the women’s floor; Victoria Woo has a bronze medal in the women’s beam. As for the men’s horizontal bar, Kevin Lytwyn got a silver medal. In total, Canada remains on top with 72 medals: 30 gold, 24 silver, and 18 bronze. The US has one more medal than Canada, but 23 of them are gold. The Americans also have 24 silver and 26 bronze. Cuba is in third with 44 medals: 16 gold, 12 silver, and 16 bronze. Bermuda still has one medal (a bronze), and the Bahamas got a medal after Arianna Vanderpool-Wallace swam her way to a bronze in the women’s 100 metre freestyle.
