Cincinnati police are investigating the parents of the 3-year-old boy who fell into a gorilla’s enclosure last Saturday.

Zoo authorities at Cincinnati Zoo made the decision to shoot the endangered silverback gorilla named Harambe after the gorilla dragged the child “like a ragdoll” for 10 minutes. New footage surfaced a few days later revealing that 17-year-old Harambe was protecting the child.

With the hashtag ‪#‎JusticeForHarambe‬ trending on Twitter, social media users have demanded that both parents (the father of the child wasn’t present during the incident) should be charged with child endangerment just as outraged animal lovers and animal rights activists scolded the zoo officials for killing Harambe rather than using a tranquilizer.
