Phil Everly Dies at 74

On Friday January 3, 2014, Phil Everly of the legendary Everly Brothers died from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), caused by years of smoking. He was 74.
 
The Everly Brothers pioneered rock ‘n’ roll in the late 1950s and 1960s and served as inspiration for rock legends such as Bob Dylan and the Beatles.
 
The dynamic duo had numerous hit songs, including “Wake Up Little Susie”, “Bye Bye Love”, “All I Have to Do is Dream” and “Cathy’s Clown”. They joined the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986.
